Theoretical Discussions
The Equation of Time has two components, each contributing about the same number of minutes
difference between solar time and clock time. The discussions below go through the mathmatics in some
detail and may be of little interest to most since they involve derivations of the equations
used in the Equation of Time and for the Orbital Simulator. It is hoped, however, that some
may find them enlightening or useful.
The Orbital Simulator, however, is fun to experiment with, and should give much more insight
into the physics of the situation than the equations. Even though there are no numerical results,
situations can be demonstrated that would otherwise be difficult to explain.
